# Privacy

## The short version

This is a static personal portfolio. It has no accounts, no forms, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking scripts. The site itself sets no cookies. It stores one value in your browser, your light or dark theme choice, and that value never leaves your device. If you email me, I keep the email. That is the whole list.

## What the site stores in your browser

When you switch between light and dark mode, the page saves the word "light" or "dark" under the key `theme` in your browser's localStorage so the choice survives a reload. Nothing reads that value except the pages on this site, and nothing transmits it anywhere. Clearing site data in your browser removes it. If storage is unavailable, the toggle still works for the current visit.

The interactive demos on this site, including the [Uniwise demo](https://sia-khorsand.com/src/uniwise-demo.html), run entirely in your browser on fictional data. They do not send what you type or click to any server.

## Who else sees your request

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub receives your IP address, user agent, and the URL you requested in order to serve the page. GitHub's handling of that data is described in the [GitHub General Privacy Statement](https://docs.github.com/en/site-policy/privacy-policies/github-general-privacy-statement). I do not have access to per-visitor logs.

Some pages load assets from third-party hosts, which means those hosts also receive your IP address and user agent for that request:

- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) for the Lato, Open Sans, and Material Symbols typefaces.
- cdnjs (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) for the Font Awesome icon set.

I do not control these services and do not receive any data from them. Links to other sites, such as GitHub, LinkedIn, and chalky-app.com, take you to services with their own privacy terms.

## Email

The only way to contact me through this site is the email address on the [contact page](https://sia-khorsand.com/contact). Messages go to a Gmail inbox that I read myself. I keep correspondence for as long as it is useful to the conversation, and I do not share it, sell it, or add you to any list. If you want an email thread deleted, ask in the thread.

## Automated access

Crawlers and AI agents are welcome to read this site. The [robots.txt](https://sia-khorsand.com/robots.txt) allows all user agents, the [sitemap](https://sia-khorsand.com/sitemap.xml) lists every page, and [llms.txt](https://sia-khorsand.com/llms.txt) explains what the site is for. Nothing on the site is gated, and no page changes its content based on who is asking.

## Changes

If I add anything that collects data, such as analytics or a contact form, I will update this page and change the effective date at the top. The site's source history is public on GitHub, so changes to this page are visible there too.
